HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-01-1977 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, DECEMBER 1, 1977 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, 2 met in regular session December 1, 1977 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the 3 Municipal Building in said City. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Anderson 4 and Mr. Webb present. The following business was had, to-wit: 5 6 Mr. Webb moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as prepared, 7 seconded by Mr. Anderson and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 8 II/ 9 Mr. Anderson moved to accept and file the report from the Bureau of Buildings 10 for November, 1977, seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the 11 motion was carried. 12 13 Mr. Webb read a letter from the U. S. Department of Commerce, Economic 14 Development Administration, acknowledging receipt of the certification of 15 actual on-site labor for the Williamsburg Pike project. The executed 16 certificate is acceptable and their office will await a copy of the first 17 payroll to substantiate the date claimed. The Finance Division has been 18 notified of the start of construction and will implement procedures to 19 effectuate the "Letter of Credit" for the Grantee on this project. This 20 letter should be received next week. 21 22 Mr. Webb presented from Robert Rees, Commercial Manager of RP&L a letter 23 stating a proposal by the Street Light Committee that seven (7) lights 24 be installed on South 4th Street between Main and South "A" described as 25 follows: Moldcast Cat. No. 2205-A, 28' poles with duranodic finish - 120 26 volt ballast, photocell on top of pole, fixture to be 250 watt sodium (poles 27 same as I. U. East) . Mr. Webb stated that Mr. Rees verbally stated this 28 is the agreement of the County, Architect and RP&L. 29 30 Mr. Anderson stated he is going to object to this on a technical ground. 31 At the last meeting of the Board, steps to be followed were that RP&L 32 was to call a meeting of the Architect, a representative of the County ' 33 and Mr. Meredith and come back with a joint recommendation. Mr. Anderson, 34 therefore, wants this recommendation with signatures of everyone involved. 35 36 Mr. Meredith instrgcted the Clerk to notify Mr. Rees that the Board of Works 37 received his recommendation, but it is not in accordance with what the 38 Board has outlined in their minutes of November 23. RP&L is to give a 39 report to this body bearing signatures of all those involved. 40 41 This matter is continued under advisement. 42 43 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed 44 the meeting was adjourned. 45 46 Donald E.
