SPECIAL
BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, OCTOBER 20, 1977
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
2 in special session on October 20, 1977 at the hour of 9:50 a.m. in the Muni-
3 cipal Building ,in said City. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Anderson and Mr.
4. Webb present.

6 The purpose of the special meeting was to consider a Homecoming Parade for
7 Richmond High. School.

9 Sgt. Ron Williams. and Capt. Scott Loper of Traffic Safety and Transportation
• 10 Director Jerry Haynes were present. Sgt. Williams stated the formation time is
11 5:30 p.m. with the parade. starting at 6:00 p.m. on October 20,' 1977. The
12 parade. will last approximately twenty (20) to thirty (30) minutes. Formation
13 will be on No. 14th and 15th Streets north of North "A" Street. The parade
14 route will be on North "A" from 14th to 5th Streets. Mr. Haynes will provide
15 barricades.

17 The. involved departments will provide safety for students, participants and
18 spectators.

20 Mr. Anderson pointed out there was no formal presentation, the Board heard
21 of the parade and are, therefore, meeting and there is considerable vagueness;
22 however, all parties present are assured Board cooperation.

24 The Board having heard all this and thanking those present for their cooperation,
25 Mr. Anderson moved that the Homecoming Parade be approved, subject to all of
26 the vague situations being ironed out:Jthrough Department people in the City of
27 Richmond, seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

29 Capt. Loper stated verbal State Highway approval has been obtained.

31 There. being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed the
32 meeting was. adjourned.
