HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-07-1977 - Special Session jS SPECIAL MEETING BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SEPTEMBER 7, 1977 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, 2 Indiana, met in specail session September 7, 1977 at the hour 3 of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal Building in said City. Mr. 4 Meredith presided with Mr. Anderson and Mr. Webb present. 5 The following business was had, to—wit: 6 7 Mr. Meredith announced the purpose of this special meeting is. 8 to consider a street light request that was taken under 9 advisement last week which proposes 15 post top, 175 watt lights 10 be installed in Meadow Park Subdivision. Mr. Meredith stated 11 he has had considerable discussion with Mr. Paul Lingle, Mr. 12 Bob Rees and Mr. Roy Kaiser concerning this installation. He 13 stated his concern has been lighting of streets where there is 14 no occupancy of homes. Mr. Lingle stated that between October 15 1 and 15, there will be six (6) homes occupied. .and, within 16 thirty (30) to forty—five (45) days after, four (4) more homes 17 will be occupied. There are eighteen (18) now being built. 18 19 RP&L cannot begin construction until the curbs are in. Mr. 20 Lingle indicated the curbs should be in by this Thursday. Mr. 21 Lingle also indicated he would like street lights in and lighted, 22 if at all possible, by his Home—a—mama. 23 24 Mr. Meredith recommended approval of the street light request 25 and the approval being that the City- will not pay the monthly 26 charge until the 1st of November or until six (6) homes are 27 occupied. This is agreeable with Mr. Lingle, who will pay the 28 monthly charge until such time as the six (6) homes are 29 occupied. This would permit lighting of the Home—a—rama. 30 31 Mr. Anderson moved approval of the installation of these fifteen 32 (15) lights subject to the occupancy of six (6) homes and that 33 said developer shall pay for monthly charges for lights until 34 such time six (6) homes .are occupied, seconded by Mr. Webb 35 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 36 37 There being no further business on motion duly,made, seconded 38 and passed the meeting was adjourned. 39 40 Donald E.
