HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-19-1977 d33 3 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MAY 19, 1977 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met 2 in regular session May 19, 1977 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal 3 Building in said City. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Anderson and Mr. Webb 4 present. The following business was had, to-wit: 5 6 Mr. Anderson moved to. approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded 7 by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 8 II/ 9 Mr. Mike Herold requested closing Idlewild Drive from the intersection of 10 Mikan to the curve on Capri on Sunday, May 29, 1977 from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 11 p.m. for a block party. Mr. Anderson moved to approve this request, seconded 12 by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 13 14 Mr. Anderson moved to accept the recommendation of Chief Charles Chris to 15 accept the resignation of Russell Lynch as a Special Police Officer of 16 Earlham College, effective May 6, 1977, seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous 17 voice vote the motion was carried. 18 19 Chief Chris stated that under the ordinance on the Police Merit System a 20 requirement is that Police Officers, within thirty (30) days of inception, 21 elect a five (5) member committee called a Nomination and Election Committee. 22 23 The following police officers have filed their candidacy for this committee: 24 Larry Jenkins, John Lantz, Terry LaFuze, Michael LaFuze, Dennis Rice, John 25 Farmer, Jack Myers, Todd Thompson, Jon Carrico, Joseph Edwards, Joseph 26 Nimitz and Dale Sharits. 27 28 ' Mr. Anderson moved to set Friday, May 27, 1977 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in 29 the Squad Room for the election of the five (5) member Nominating and Elec- 30 tion Committee, seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion 31 was carried. 32 33 Mr. Webb moved to approve the request of Mr. Shafter Sprinkles, 122 So. 16th 34 Street for a curb cut at L218So. 22nd Street, seconded by Mr. Anderson and 35 on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. This request has the approval 36 of the Engineering Department, Plan Department and Traffic. 37 38 Mr. Leonard Dailey-presented .a petition from residents in the 2400 and 2500 39 block of N. W. 16th Street for city water. Mr. Webb recommended Mr. Dailey 40 take his petition to Richmond Water Works. 41 42 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed, 43 the meeting was adjourned. 44 45 Donald E.
