BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RI'CGMOND, _INDIANA, MARCH 3, 1977
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of.the City of Richmond,
2 Indiana, met in regular session March 3, 1g77 at the hour of
3 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal Building in said City. Mr. Meredith
4 presided with Mr. Anderson and Mr. Webb present. The following
5 business was had, to-wit.:

7 Mx.. Webb moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting,
g seconded by Mr. .Anderson and on unanimous voice vote the motion
9 was carried.

11 Mr. Larry Juerling-, ._Chamber;.of Commerce Task Force, requested
12 permission to post signs-denoting points of interest in the
13 City of Richmond,....to 'be=:used in conjunction with a map and
14 brochure to be placed in motels, etc, for the use of persons
15 visiting in the city.

17 W. Webb noted approval..would be needed from the State Highway
18 and Sgt. Williams as well. 'Mr.. Anderson moved to take the
19 request under advisement; seconded by Mr'. Webb Motion carried.

21 Mr. Jack Turnbaugh_ requested approval to vacate the alley
22 between North "G" and 'North ' i", and to close North 13th Street
23 between "G and 'W' as the school owns the property on both sides.
24 Mr. Meredith referred it to the Plan Commission for recommendation.

26 The request for change on South 4th•Street was referred to the
27 Plan Commission.

29 Sgt. Williams of the Department of Traffic Safety requested
30 permission to increase public parking on the west side of the
31 _ first block of North llth Street by four stalls , and to remove
III32 20' of yellow curb on the north side of the 1000 block of East
33 Main. Mr. Anderson moved to approve the request, seconded by Mr.
34 Webb, 'and on unanimous voice votethe motion was carried.

36 Transportation Director Jerry Haynes recoimuended the removal of '
37 the present zoning signs for street sweeping to enable the
38 Department to maintain 'the present flexible sweeping schedule.
39 • Mr. Anderson moved to accept the reconunendation, seconded by Mr.
40 Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

42 Mr. Meredith recommended that a bid opening for a 4-Door 1977
43 Sedan be held on March 24, 1977 at 9:15 a.m. in the Board of Public
44 Works.

46 Mr. Webb moved to award the contract to change the City Building
47 . elevators, at a cost not to exceed $300.00, to an. alternating
48 system to the Montgomery Elevator Co. , secondedby Mr. Anderson
49 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

51 Mr. Meredith read a letter from David We Krumenauer, General
52 Manager of Clearview Cable, which responded to questions from
53 Mr. Meredith. It stated in part that •materials are in house to
54'- extend cable service to the complete Holsapple Addition.

56 RP&L requests permission to replace old wires on the 20th
III57 Century Bridge with new overhead wires. Mr. Webb moved to.approve
58 the request pending approval of the County Engineer, seconded by
59 Mr. Anderson, and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

61 Mr. Charles Roberts, Building Commissioner, submitted a report
62 for February 1977 to the Board. Mr. Anderson movedto accept
63 the report, seconded by Mr. Webb.

65 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and
66 passed, the meeting was adjourned.
