HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-27-1977 BOARD OF PUBT,TC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JANUARY 27, 1977 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, 2 met in regular session January 27, 1977 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the 3 Municipal Building of said City. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Reinke 4 and Mr. Webb present. The following business was had, to-wit: 5 6 Mr. Reinke moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded 7 by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 8 9 Since a representative from Belden was not present to present their 10 request for parking, Mr. Meredith deferred this matter. 11 12 Mr. Webb moved to approve the request of Chief Charles Chris that Officer 13 Jon Chilcoate be advanced from Probationary Patrolman to that of the 14 rank of Patrolman First Class effective on January 28, 1977, seconded by 15 Mr. Reinke and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 16 17 Several weeks ago the County came with a request for more parking around 18 the Court House and suggesting the closing of South 4th from Main to 19 South "A". After talking with the Traffic Department, Plan Department and 20 meeting again with the County Commissioners, the City will reinstate park- 21 ing on the south side of Main Street between 3rd and 4th Streets. 22 - 23 Mr. Reinke moved to establish parking on the south side of Main Street 24 between 3rd and 4th Streets with a two (2) hour restriction, seconded 25 by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. This 26 will be done as soon as weather permits. 27 28 Mr. Meredith announced the contract for pest control covering the Muni- 29 cipal Building as well as bird control under the North 10th Street 30 bridge is due to be renewed the end of February. The Fire Department 31 has requested that their houses be included in the bidding. Mr. Meredith 32 announced bids will be opened on February 17 at 9:15 a.m. 33 34 As this was the last meeting for Mr. Reinke as a member of the Board of 35 Public Works, the Mayor and members of the Board expressed their 36 appreciation for his time given to the City. 37 38 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed 39 the meeting was adjourned. 40 41 Donald E.
