CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,' SEPTEMBER 30, 1976
1 The Board of Public Works and. Safety of the City of Richmond,. Indiana,
2 met in regular. session' September 30, 1976 at the hour of`900 a.m. in
3 the Municipal Building of said City. Mr. Reinke presided with Mr. Meredith
4 and Mr. Webb ,present., The following business. was had, to-wit:

6 Mr Webb moved to approve theiminutes of the previous regular and special
7 meetings, seconded by Mr. Meredith and on unanimous voice vote the motion
8 was carried.. '

10 Mr Webb moved to approvesa 'curb cut .request_of Richmond Community Schools
11 for Hibberd School for a principal cut between South 9th and 10th Streets
12 on South "J" and a service drive cut off South' lOth, seconded by Mr.
13 Meredith and on unanimous voice vote the motion 'was carried.' .

15 Mr. Willard Shifts, Sr., 12011Boyer Street.and Mrs. Edna; Ruth Jack, 403
16 South` llth, who; are handicapped persons, requested `reserved parking for
17 their use in front of their homes and around the downtown Mall . Mr.
18 Reinke requestedSgt. Ron Williams to investigate this request and give
19 a report to the'Board:

21 Department of Transportation Director, Jerry Haynes, presented the follow-
22 ing cost estimate to provide services to. Spring Grove Corporation for •
23 striping lines on the streets in Spring Grove Heights:

31 Mr. Haynes stated the Board of Spring Grove has approved this expenditure'.

33 . Mr. Webb moved the Department of Transportation go ahead and do the work
34 according to the estimate, seconded by Mr. Meredith and on unanimous - -
35 . voice vote the motion was carried. . .

SPECIAL MEETING
BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SEPTEMBER 24, 1976
1 The, Board of Public Works and Safety of. the: City of Richmond, Indiana,
2 met in .special session September 24, 1976 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in
3. the Municipal Building of said City. Mr. Reinke presided with Mr.
4 Meredith and Mr. Webb present. The following business was had, to-wit:

III 6 The purpose of. this special meeting was to give a representative of
7 Deeds Equipment Co. , Mr. Jim Fox, opportunity to respond to certain
8 statements made by Mr. Joe Taylor, a representative of Reid-Holdomb
9 concerning bids submitted to .the Board of Public Works for a bituminous
10 distributor for. the Department of Transportation. Mr. Taylor had stated
11' in the regular Board meeting of September 23 that the'bid of Deeds would
12 not pass a GWV rating and could not be certified.

14 Mr. Fox submitted a letter to Mr. Reinke which stated in part that the
15 Ford Truck. which Deeds bid through Fred First Ford Inc. will meet and/or.
16 'exceed all the specifications written by the City of Richmond and the
17 finished unit will be certified_at the time of compl.etion. to meet and
18 exceed any or all of the D.O.T"s Safety Standards,.,. .Mr. Fox also, gave
19 a presentation on hydraulic vs air controls.,

21 Mr. Jerry Haynes, Department of Transportation, again recommended Deeds
22. Equipment Co: be awarded. Ihe bid on -the bituminous distributor. This
23 bid is in the amount of $28,092.67.

25 Mr. Webb moved to accept' the' recommendation of Mr. Haynes, seconded by
26 Mr. Meredith and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
