CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA
ORDINANCE NO. 24-2022
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE,AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM
THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute
any documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal
government or any other source, and said documents are prepared and
executed by the City executive administration, provided that the Common
Council of the City of Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves
an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies received in accordance with
IC 36-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Homeland Security has local training support
grant funding available through its 2023 Indiana Fire and Public Safety
Academy Regional Public Safety Fund Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond ("City") desires to submit a grant application to the
Indiana Department of Homeland Security to receive grant funds to obtain
forcible entry training props; and
WHEREAS, No local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond,Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10 has submitted or will
submit a grant application to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security
for funds available through its 2023 Indiana Fire and Public Safety Academy
Regional Public Safety Fund Program.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding from the
Indiana Department of Homeland Security in an amount up to Ten Thousand
Dollars and Zero Cents ($10,000.00).

3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated for the
Fire Department to obtain forcible entry training props.
