HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-31-1975 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND , INDIANA, DECEMBER 31 , 1975 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, 2 Indiana, met in regular session December 31 , 1975 at the hour 3 of 9 : 00 a .m. in the Municipal Building in said City. Mr . Burton 4 presided with Mr . Judge and Mr . Willis present . The following 5 business was had to-wit : 6 7 Mr . Willis moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting , 8 seconded by Mr . Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion 9 was carried . 10 11 Mr . Burton moved to sign and execute a lease between the City 12 of Richmond and Steven E . and Debra Jo Mize for rental of 13 property located at 927 North 12th Street , seconded by Mr. 14 Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 15 16 Mr . Burton , City Attorney, examined proof of publication 17 for bids to be received for Two 1976 Police Equipped Solo 18 Motorcycles and found it to be in order . 19 20 Mr . Burton moved to accept and file proof of publication, 21 seconded by Mr . Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion 22 was carried . 23 24 Two bids were received , one from Ike ' s Motorcycle Sales in 25 the amount of $4 , 450 . 00 net , the bid was not on bid form 95 26 and there was no bid bond or certified check accompanying the 27 bid . 28 29 The other bid was from Carter Cycle Center in the amount of 30 $2 , 950 . 00 for the first one and $2 , 850 . 00 for the second one 31 minus $550 . 00 trade in . The bid was not on bid form 95 and 32 there was no bid bond or certified check accompanying the bid . 33 34 Mr . Burton moved to take the bids under advisement , seconded 35 by Mr . Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was 36 carried . 37 38 Donald Strahan , Safety Director, reported there will be one 39 outstanding bill to carry-over from the construction of the 40 new fire stations to Richmond Power & Light for installation 41 of the flasher signals on Chester Blvd . 42 43 Capt . Scott Loper , Traffic Division, reported to the Board 44 that Gariup Construction Co . still owes $500 . 00 for rental 45 of parking space on the street at the site of the new 46 General Telephone Co . to park construction trailers . 47 48 Mr . Burton moved to instruct the Clerk to write a letter to 49 Gariup Construction Co . requesting they pay the $500 . 00 to 50 park construction trailers , seconded by Mr . Judge and on 51 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried . 52 53 Mr . Burton moved to instruct the Clerk to write a letter to 54 Gariup Construction Co . requesting they pay the $500 . 00 to 55 park construction trailers , seconded by Mr . Judge and on 56 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried . 57 58 Mr . Burton moved to execute Change Order for Dayton Stencil 59 Works Co . in the amount of $1 , 140 . 00 for the Parking Garage, 60 seconded by Mr . Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion 61 was carried . 62 63 64 Board of Works Minutes December 31 , 1975 Page 2 1 Claude E . Burton said he has enjoyed working for the City as City 30 Attorney and also as City Judge and that it has been a 31 privilage to work with all the Department Heads and' that 32 he wished the new Mayor well and hopes the new administration 33 will keep Richmond on the progressive track. 34 35 There being no further business on motion dule made , seconded 36 and passed , the meeting was adjourned . 37 38 39 40 Robert G .
