HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-04-1975 /d 7 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, DECEMBER 4, 1975 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, 2 met in regular session December 4, 1975 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in 3 the Municipal Building in said City. Mr. Burton presided with Mr. 4 Judge and Mr. Willis present. The following business was had to-wit: 5 6 Mr. Judge moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded 7 by Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 8 9 Mr. Burton moved to grant permission for the Seventh Day Adventist 10 Church to Christmas Carol on December 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, & 11 21st from 6:00 P.M.to 9:00 P.M. going house to house with the stipulation 12 they be properly identified, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice 13 vote the motion was carried. 14 15 Bob Reese, Engineer Richmond Power & Light appeared before the Board 16 regarding the traffic control system at North 10th and "A" Streets at 17 the construction site of General Telephone. 18 19 Mr. Judge moved to grant permission to start work on the moderation 20 of the traffic signalization at North 10th and ".J" Streets with left 21 turn arrow, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the 22 motion was carried. 23 24 Mr. Burton moved to approve the following recommendations of Fire 25 Chief John Newland, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote 26 the motion was carried. 27 28 1 . Promote Platoon Captain Marion Williams to the rank of 29 Assistant Chief, effective December 4, 1975. 30 31 2. Promote Lieutenant Robert Demps to the rank of Platoon 32 Captain, effective December 4, 1975. 33 34 3. Promote Engineer Jan A. Vogelsong to the rank of Lieutenant 35 effective December 4, 1975. 36 37 4. Reassign Drillmaster Larry Bosell to the rank of Engineer, 38 in a line company, effective December 4, 1975. 39 40 5. Assign Claude Loudy as Chief of Fire Prevention. 41 42 Mr. Burton moved to grant permission for curb cut request as per plans 43 submitted at North .10th and "A" Streets at the new construction site 44 of the General Telephone Company, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous 45 voice vote the motion was carried. 46 47 Mr. Willis moved to accept the road construction of the Industrial 48 Parkway and release the bond, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous 49 voice vote-the motion was carried. 50 51 _ . Mr. Willis moved to advertise for bids to be taken on December 18, 1975 52 at 9:15 a.m. for construction of the South 16th Street Detention Basin, 53 Project No. 76-201 , seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote 54 the motion was carried. 55 56 Mr. Judge moved to submit a Resolution to Council to transfer $500.00 57 in the City Court budget, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice 58 vote the motion was carried. 59 60 Mr. Judge moved to release Street Light Project No. 9 and to install one 61 light on wood pole at Northwest llth Street, south of Northwest "D" Street, 62 seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 63 64 65 %3 Board of Works Minutes December 4, 1975 Page 2 1 Claude E.
