BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, NOVEMBER 26, 1975
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
2 met in regular session November 26, 1975 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in
3 the Municipal Building in said City. Mr. Burton presided with Mr.
4 Judge and Mr. Willis present. The following business was had to-wit:

6 Mr. Judge moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting,
7 seconded by Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion was
8 carried.

10 Mr. Judge moved to submit to Council an ordinance to transfer $84.42
11 in the Weights and Measures Budget, seconded by Mr. Burton and on
12 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

14. Mr. Judge stated as a matter of information an ordinance will be sub-
15 mitted to Council to transfer $1 ,865.00 in the Park Department Budget.

17 Mr. Judge moved to submit to Council an ordinance to transfer $10,355.13
18 in the Motor Vehicle Highway Budget, seconded by Mr. Burton and on
19 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

21 Mr. Judge moved to submit to Council the Surplus Barrett Law Budget in
22 the amount of $1 ,525.00 and the Parking Meter Budget in the amount of
23 $60,306.00, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion
24 was carried.

26 Mr. Willis moved to approve a sub-division for Winding Ridge Apartments
27 as per platt submitted, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice
28 vote the motion was carried.

30 John Newland, Fire Chief, presented the following recommendations :

32 1 . Recommend that Gerald Rigsby be promoted to the rank of
33 Platoon Captain, serving as the electrician for the
34
35 Fire Department alarm system effective November 26, 1975.
36 2. Recommend that the rank of Fire Marshal be changed to
37 rank of Assistant Chief, who will be in charge of training
38 and personnel .

40 3. Recommend that the position of Drillmaster be eliminated
41 and be replaced by the rank of Chief- of Fire Prevention
42 Bureau.

44 4. Recommend that salary of Assistant Chief will be same as
45 Fire Marshal 's salary at present aid salary of Chief of
46 Fire Prevention be the same as Drill Master.

48 Mr. Burton moved to approve the above recommendations of Chief Newland,
49 seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was
50 carried.

52 Mr. Burton moved to advertise for bids to be taken for skyways at 7th
53 Street and 8th Street on December 19, 1975, at 2:00 P.M. subject to
54 approval of the plans, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice
55 vote the motion was carried.

57 Mr. Judge moved to apply for a miscellaneous permit for the 8th Street
58 skyway from the State Highway Commission, seconded by Mr. Burton and
59 on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

61 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed,
62 the meeting was adjourned.
