BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, OCTOBER. 30, 1975
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
2 met in regular session October 30, 1975 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in
3 the Municipal Building in said City. Mr. Burton presided with Mr. Judge
4 and Mr. Willis present. The following business was_ had to-wit:

6 Mr. Willis moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded
7 by Mr. Judge a'nd on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

9 Mr. Robert Murphy, 1724 Chester Blvd. , Mr.. W.H._Wyatt, -1717 Chester
10 Blvd. , Sandy Ross, Chester Heights Apts. , Doy Boyer, Minister of Second
11 Church of Christ, Richard Cox, 6 Alice Lane and Wanda Wood, 1915 Chester
12 Blvd. appeared presenting a petition concerning reducing the speed
13 limit along Chester Blvd.

15 Captain Scott Loper, Traffic Division, will ;study the speed from Sim
16 Hodgin Parkway to IR 70.

18 The State Highway Commission will have the final say regarding reducing
19 the speed limit.

21 Mr. Judge mentioned trick or treat is from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and
22 urged.citizens to turn on their porch lights if they wanted trick or
23 treaters to stop.

25 Captain Scott Loper requested that the 500 block of North 19th Street
26 be converted from its present two-way system to that of one-way north-
27 bound.

29 Mr. Willis moved to take the request under advisement, seconded by Mr.
30 Burton and on unanimous voicevote the motion was carried.

32 Mr. Burton moved_to sign agreement with the State Highway Commission
33 to set the speed limit at 35 miles per hour 170 feet west of S.W. 18th
34 Street to Porterfield Ave. And at 40 miles per hour from Porterfield
35 Ave. to 1000 ft. west of Salisbury Road, seconded by Mr. Judge and on
36 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

38 Mr. Judge moved to approve the installation of the following street
39 lights, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion
40 was carried.
41 Two lights on wood poles at South "H" Street between
42 18th and 19th Streets.

44 Street light project including Riley Hills Drive, Irish
45 Hills Court and Shamrock Court as per engineer drawings.

47 Mr. Willis moved to approve request to pave out to existing asphalt
48 from driveway at 1417 South 11th. Street, seconded by Mr. Burton and
49 on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

51 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and
52 passed, the meeting was adjourned.
