AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11 OF THE HOPKINSVILLE CODE OF
ORDINANCES PERTAINING TO WARDS OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, Hopkinsville City Council recently adopted Ordinance 25-2019 annexing
property known as Windmill Farms into the City of Hopkinsville; and
WHEREAS, Hopkinsville City Council hereby desires to incorporate the annexed
property into the City's ward map.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HOPKINSVILLE, KENTUCKY AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE
That Section 11.01 of the Hopkinsville Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read
as follows:
§ 11.01 WARDS OF CITY.
The city is divided into 12 wards, each ward being as nearly equal in population as
practicable to -wit: That Wards No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 in the city shall
include all of the territory and population within the area designated, bounded and as set forth
upon the 2020 [2018] map of the city which designates each individual ward and the
boundaries of same_ [a ] aqg_Mn is incorporated herein by reference, to which
reference shall be made for a more particular description of each ward. A copy of said map is
on file in the City Clerk's Office and is available for viewing on the city's website
(www. hopkinsvilleky. us).
SECTION TWO
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is held
unconstitutional or otherwise invalid, such infirmity shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions of this ordinance.
SECTION THREE
All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby
repealed.
SECTION FOUR
This ordinance shall take effect after its passage and publication according to law.
