HomeMy Public PortalAboutTown of Gulf Stream UG project - FDOT meeting Renee Basel From:Bill Peery <BillPeeryII@yahoo.com> Sent:Wednesday, August 21, 2013 10:46 AM To:Danny Brannon Subject:Town of Gulf Stream UG project - FDOT meeting Danny, I met with Brett at FDOT yesterday, 8/20/2013, and reviewed the plans with him. He asked about photometric calculations. I advised him that there were no photometrics and that the town just wanted to replace the existing lights. He was not sure in that case whether photometrics would be required and said he would have to run it by their (FDOT) street lighting department. I told him I thought you had already spoken to a lady at their office in Ft. Lauderdale. He said she might have moved and he needed to determine who does that now. By the way, he mentioned that he thought FPL might have already submitted their permit, but he was entirely not sure if it was this same area or some other job / area. Assuming the photometrics would not be required, he said they might be able to okay the replacement of the street lights as an amendment to an existing “Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement” if the Town already has one. Or, “worst case” (his words) it might require a utility permit. The usual lead time for approval is approximately 30 days from submittal. The monument lighting might be a different issue requiring a special permit for aesthetic features. He said that form is very lengthy. He confirmed that the pdf is all he needs for now. He needs to do some checking and hopes to know more next week as to what they will require for permit. - Bill Bill Peery, CQE, PMP Phone: (561) 346-3209 Fax: (561) 658-2602 eMail: BillPeeryII@yahoo.com 1
