BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JULY 10, 1975
1 The Board of Public Works & Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
2 met in regular session July 10, 1975 at the hour 9:00 a.m. in the
3 Municipal Building in said City. Mr. Burton presided with Mr. Judge
4 and Mr. Willis present. The following business was had to-wit:

6 Mr. Judge moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting,
7 seconded by Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion was
8 carried.

10 Mr. Willis moved to close an alley in the 1100 block of Main between
11 Main and North A ( east/west alley) during the term of construction
12 of the Palladium-Item building, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous
13 voice vote the motion was carried.

15 Donald L. Strahan, Safety Director, read a letter from the State Highway
16 Commission regarding our request for a fire truck signal on US 27
17 (Chester Blvd. ) & Winding Ridge Dr. They recommended a flashing amber
18 device.

20 Tom Koorsen, Housing Inspector, reported on the inspection he made at
21 1104 Parry Street owned by Gurley Fox, stating in his opinion the
22 inside of the dwelling was beyond repair.

24 Mr. Willis moved to have a letter sent to Mr. Fox asking him to appear
25 on July 24, 1975 at 9:00 a.m. regarding the demolition of this dwelling,
26 seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

28 Mr. Judge moved to request Harold McFarland to appear on July 24, 1975
29 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. regarding demolition of property he owns located
30 at 1012 So. 5th St. , seconded by Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice vote
31 the motion was carried.

33 City Attorney, Robert Burton, examined proof of publication and found
34 it to be in order, for bids to be taken for pavement removal on N.W. 5th St.

36 Mr. Judge moved to accept and file proof of publication, seconded by Mr.
37 Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

39 Bids for removal of pavement were received from the following: A & D
40 Excavating, $19,250; Cain Lakes Gravel , $15,400.00 and Mike Delucio,
41 $23,275.00.

43 Mr. Judge moved to take bids under advisement, seconded by Mr. Burton
44 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

46 Mr. Burton upon request of Building Commissioner, Claude E. Goins, moved
47 to send letters to the following asking them to appear regarding condemna-
48 tion orders of dwellings they own: Arby & Mona Miller, re: 1422 No. "F
49 St. ; Claude Burnam, Jr. , re: 1214 No. "F" and William Hoch, re; 1112 No.
50 "D" St. Mr. Judge seconded the motion and on unanimous voice vote the
51 motion was carried.

53 Mr. Burton moved to take curb cut request at Sambo's under advisement
54 until next week, seconded by Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice vote the
55 motion was carried.

III 57 Claude E. Goins, Building Commissioner, presented the following report
