HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-06-1975 73 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JUNE 6, 1975 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, 2 met in regular session June 6, 1975 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the 3 Municipal Building in said City. Mr. Burton presided with Mr. Judge 4 present. Mr. Willis was absent. The following business was had to-wit: 5 6 Mr. Judge moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded 7 by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 8 9 Louis E. Gibbs, Chief of Police, requested permission to send Detective 10 Sergeant Jack Myers to the Baxkster School of Polygraph in New York 11 City to become a Polygraph Technician. 12 13 Mr. Burton moved to grant permission to send Detective Sergeant Jack 14 Myers to the Baxkster School of Polygraph from June 16, 1975 to July 15 21 , 1975, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion 16 was carried. 17 18 Elmer Toschlog, Director of Transportation, urged citizens to keep 19 schrubs, bushes and trees trimmed in order to keep from obstructing 20 the view in the alleys and intersections. 21 22 Mr. Burton moved to accept the recommendation of Matt Nepote, Administra- 23 tive Assistant and Purchasing and Elmer Toschlog, Director of Trans- 24 portation to award bids for Street Materials , Fuel Oil and Gasoline 25 to the following: Magaw Hot Mix, Inc. , Magaw Construction, Inc. , Mid- 26 dleboro Stone Quarry, Richmond Concrete Corp. and Bitucote Prod. Co. 27 and Magaw Construction, Inc. for slurry seal . Mr. Judge seconded the 28 motion and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 29 30 The Bid Tabulation and recommendation for awarding Street Material 31 bids are on file in the office of the City Clerk. 32 33 Claude E. Goins 11 Building Commissioner 12 13 Commissioner Goins, requested the Board call in Waymon & Orene Brown 14 regarding condemned dwelling at 1215 North "G" Street and Walter Campbell 15 regarding condemned dwelling at 807 North 17th Street. 16 17 Mr. Burton moved to request Waymon & Orene Brown to appear on Thursday, 18 June 12, 1975 at 9:10 a.m. and Walter Campbell to appear on Thursday, 19 June 12, 1975 at 9:15 a.m. , seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous 20 voice vote the motion was carried. 21 22 Mr. Judge moved to amend the minutes of the Special Board of Works 23 Meeting of May 22, 1975, at. 1 :30 p.m. as follows: Line 27 to read 24 Mr. Toschlog stated instead of Mr. Judge stated, seconded by Mr. Burton 25 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 26 27 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and 28 passed, the meeting was adjourned. 29 30 Robert G.
