HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-27-1975 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MARCH 27, 1975 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, 2 met in regular session March 27, 1975 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the 3 Municipal Building in said City. Mr. Burton presided with Mr. Judge 4 and Mr. Willis present. The following business was had to-wit: 5 6 Mr. Willis moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded 7 by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 8 9 Fire Chief, William H. Berry, requested Firefighter Robert Bowen be pro- 10 moted to the rank of Engineer effective March 27, 1975, 11 12 Mr. Burton moved to promote Firefighter Robert Bowen to the rank of 13 Engineer effective March 27, 1975, seconded by Mr. Willis and on unani- 14 mous voice vote the motion was carried. 15 16 Safety Director, Donald Strahan, reported the contractor has moved in to 17 work on No. 2 Firestation. 18 19 Mr. Burton moved to approve a curb cut for McDonald's on Commerce Road 20 subject to a set-back of two feet (locate mouth of curb cut to provide 21 a 24 ft. pavement from the center line of Commerce Road) , seconded by 22 Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 23 24 Mr. Burton moved to accept dedication by Theodore Riley of real estate 25 for the purpose of a public street at S.W. "G" Street and Abington Pike, 26 seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 27 28 Mr. Judge moved to sign a one year contract between the City and Bench 29 Ad of Indiana, Inc. , seconded by Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice vote 30 the motion was carried. 31 32 The Board requested Fire Chief, William Berry, to make a study for a 33 fire hydrant between Northwest 16th and Holsapple Road and Northwest 16th 34 and Northwest "Z" Streets. 35 36 Mr. Burton moved to grant a curb cut request of Lawsons, located at South 37 9th and "E" Streets as per site plans submitted dated March 26, 1975 and 38 subject to the condition that the curb cut on South "E" be used only as 39 an entrance and not as an exit and further that the alley-way on the west 40 side be used as an exit only, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous 41 voice vote the motion was carried. 42 43 There being no further business on motion duly, seconded and passed, 44 the meeting was adjourned. 45 46 47 48 Robert G.
