HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-20-1975 3S BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MARCH 20, 1975 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, 2 met in regular session March 20, 1975 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the 3 Board of Works Room in the Municipal Building. Mr. Judge presided 4 with Mr. Willis present. The following business was had to-wit: 5 6 Mr. Willis moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, 7 seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was 8 carried. 9 10 Mr. Willis moved to advertise for bids to be taken on April 3, 1975 11 at 9:15 a.m. for concrete drain tile, seconded by Mr. Judge and on 12 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 13 14 Mr. Willis moved to advertise for bids to be taken on April 15, 1975 15 at 2:00 p.m. for Division 2 Sitework, Section 2-A Demolition, Excava- 16 tion, Filling & Backfilling and Section 2-B Pipe Sewers for the 17 Parking Garage, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the 18 motion was carried. 19 20 Mr. Willis moved to grant permission to send Lieutenant Dudley G. 21 Goodwin to the 102nd Session, FBI National Academy from July 13 to 22 September 25, 1975, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote 23 the motion was carried. 24 25 Mr. Willis moved to reserve eight parking stalls on the north-west side 26 of the middle island in the City Building parking lot, for parking the 27 city owned vehicles, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice 28 vote the motion was carried. 29 30 Capt. Scott Loper, Traffic Division, reported the State Highway 31 Commission has issued the work order for the left turn signal at North 32 10th and "J" Streets and the work should be completed within the next 33 30 days , weather permitting. 34 35 Captain Loper also reported the work has been completed at the hospi- 36 tal entrance. 37 38 Mr. Willis moved to deny the request of the Traffic Division to pro- 39 hibit on-street parking in the 3200 and 3300 blocks of Avon Lane and 40 the 3200 and 3300 blocks of Berwyn Lane and to try to find an alternate 41 solution to the problem, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice 42 vote the motion was carried. 43 44 Mr. Judge moved to authorize Safety Director, Donald L. Strahan to 45 write a letter to the State Highway Commission requesting a fire 46 only stop light be installed at Winding Ridge Road and U.S. 27 North, 47 seconded by Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion was 48 carried. 49 50 Mr. Willis moved to accept dedication of the South 6th and "G" Streets 51 dedicated by Beatrice & William B. Powell for the purpose of a public 52 street, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion 53 was carried. 54 55 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and 56 passed, the meeting was adjourned. 57 58 Jerald J.
