BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JANUARY 30, 1975
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
2 met in regular session January 30, 1975, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in
3 the Municipal Building in said City. Mr. Burton presided with Mr. Judge
4 and Mr. Willis present. The following business was had to-wit:

6 Mr. Willis moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded
7 by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

9 Mr. Burton moved to adopt Declaratory Resolution No. 1-1975 to vacate
10 an alley as per the legal description listed and to publish notice of
11 public hearing to be at 9:10 a.m. on February 20, 1975, seconded by
12 Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

14 Mr. Al Taylor, Manager of Greenwood Apartments, appeared before the
15 Board requesting permission for special policement to be appointed as
16 security guards for Greenwood Apartments.

18 Mr. Burton informed Mr. Taylor that if the special grant is approved
19 for the security guards, he should then return to the Board with his
20 request.

22 Donald Strahan, Safety Director, requested Mr. Taylor use the Police
23 Department applications for hiring the special police officers if the
24 grant is approved.

26 City Attorney Robert Burton examined proof of publication for bids for
26 street sweeper and found it to be in order.

28 Mr. Burton moved to accept and file proof of publication, seconded by
29 Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

31 Bids for the street sweeper were received from the following: Rudd
III32 Equipment Corp. of Indianapolis in the amount of $21 ,500.00 and Reis
33 Equipment of Indianapolis in the amount $24,488.00.

35 Mr. Burton moved to take the bids under advisement, seconded by Mr.
36 Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

38 Director of Transportation, Elmer Toschlog, reported to the Board that
39 the guard rail on the 20th Century Bridge is in need of repair.

41 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed,
42 the meeting was adjourned.
