HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-09-1975 . .5-- BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JANUARY 9, 1975 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met 2 in regular session January 9, 1975 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal 3 Building in said City. Mr. Burton presided with Mr. Judge and Mr. Willis 4 present. The following business was had to-wit: 5 6 Mr. Willis moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded by 7 Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. III8 9 Dana Weigle, Richmond Chamber of Commerce appeared before the Board requesting 10 permission for the Rose Festival Parade. 11 12 Mr. Burton moved to grant permission for the Rose Festival to be held June 13 22, 1975 at 2:00 P.M. with the stipulation the route, assembly and dis-assembly 14 be worked out with the Traffic Division, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unani- 15 mous voice vote the motion was carried. 16 17 The Board set the following Holidays for 1975: 18 19 Primary. Election May 6 20 Memorial Day May 26 21 Independence Day July 4 22 Labor Day September 1 23 Veterans Day October 27 24 General Election November 4 25 Thanksgiving November 27 - 28 26 Christmas December 25 27 28 Jimmy Johnson, VFW 1108, appeared before the Board requesting permission for 29 a Loyalty Day Parade. 30 31 Mr. Judge moved to grant permission for a Loyality Day Parade, Saturday, May 32 3rd at 1 :30 P.M. , subject to approval of the Traffic Department, seconded by 11 33 Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 34 35 Mr. Judge moved to sign an agreement with O.I .C. of Wayne County, Inc. , 36 (Opportunity Industrialization Center) in the amount of $750.00 for operating 37 expenses for a period of one year, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous 38 voice vote the motion was carried. 39 40 Mr. Burton moved to approve and enter into contract for the year 1975 between 41 the City and Donald Lindley for the advertising services on the City buses, 42 seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 43 44 Mr. Judge moved to authorize removal of existing street light behind Bartel 45 and Rohe and when construction of service drive between 9th and 10th and Main 46 and South "A" is completed to install three lights, seconded by Mr. Burton 47 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 48 49 Claude E. Goins 22 Building Commissioner 23 24 Mr. Burton moved to approve and execute an agreement with Yost Companies , Inc. 25 in the amount of $459,632 for the construction of the Multi-level parking 26 garage, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was 27 carried. 28 29 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed, the 30 meeting was adjourned. 31 1--I i 32 Robert G.
