It seems that we are letting the condo folks mix the “Assessment Methodology” with “Deciding to Do the Project or Not”. I
think we need to separate the two. The voters have voted to go forward with the undergrounding. It would not be right for
these voters to be allowed to overturn the will of the majority. I would be glad to respond to the misinformation comments
safety and reliability
that were forth relative to so that the commission has better information on that. But I do not think it
appropriate to make my comments part of your assessment presentation. I will be giving a report to the commission about
every month as project manager. This would seem to be an appropriate place for me to make such comments.

Danny - I would appreciate it if you would give me a call on Monday to discuss information to include in yor testimony
before the Town Commission on 5/13. Very briefly, you will need to present evidence/testimony regarding FPL's support
of undergrounding (see page from FPL website below and copy of Storm Secure Report attached - you probably have this
but just in case), improved reliability that will result from the project (increased redundancy, looping, reduced restoration
times, etc.) and anything else you can provide. If you prefer, you can submit the information in a memo format with just a
short verbal presentation. Rather than have multiple emails back and forth on this, I would prefer talking through your
ideas by phone. Thanks, Susan
Encourage in Underground Conversions
1
Today, more than 37 percent of FPL’s power delivery system is underground. The company is
committed to taking steps to encourage underground facilities.
We promote underground construction by:
Offering to invest a portion of the cost of converting overhead lines to underground for local
government-sponsored conversions pending PSC approval.
Enhancing existing efforts with local governments to strongly encourage ordinances requiring
developers to provide underground electrical service for all new subdivisions, developments
and projects
Supporting legislation that would require similar action statewide.
Supporting efforts by municipalities to obtain federal or state funding to assist in underground conversions
Are you interested in underground conversion?
