BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SEPTEMBER 5, 1974
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
2 met in regular session September 5, 1974, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in
3 the Municipal Building in said City. Mr. Judge presided with Mr.
4 Burton and Mr. Willis present. The following business was had to-wit:

6 Mr. Burton moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting,
7 seconded by Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion wasIII ..
8 carried.

10 Mr. Judge moved to grant permission for the Homecoming Parade to be
11 held at Dennis Junior High School on October 5, 1974, seconded by
12 Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

14 Deputy Fire Marshall William Griffin appeared before the Board to
15 explain the program for Fire Prevention Week. A City-wide fire drill
16 is being planned at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 1974 with emphasis
17 being on apartment complexes.

19 Mr. Willis moved to advertise for bids for construction of the 2Oth
20 Street Bridge on September 30, 1974 at 10:00 a.m. in the Wayne County
21 Courthouse, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the •
22 motion was carried.

24 Building Commissioner, Claude E. Goins, presented the following
25 report for the month of August.

1 Mr. Judge moved to submit to Council a resolution transferring $600.00
2 in the Motor Vehicle Highway Budget, seconded by Mr. Willis and on
3 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

5 Mr. Willis moved to accept dedication of 100 ft. right-of-way for the
6 extension of Northwest llth Street, seconded by Mr. Willis and on
7 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. •

9 Mr. Judge moved to approve_ installation of street lights on existing
10 pole in the alley ( Starr Street) between North 15th and North
11 16th Street as needed on existing pole in a "T" alley at the
12 rear of 914 North llth Street, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unani-
13 mous voice vote the motion was carried.

15 Mr. Willis moved to award bid and sign contract for demolition of
16 houses and buildings on North 20th Street to the low bidder, Mike
17 DeLucio & Son in the amount of $6,768.00, seconded by Mr. Judge
18 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carrried.

20 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and
21 passed, the meeting was adjourned.
