BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY
Jerald J. Judge, President
Dear Board Members:
I request the placement of two street lights in the alley
in the rear of 602 & 606 South West A Street. The lights
are needed for Public Safety as the alley is adjacent to
Longs Super Market which is a twenty-four hour operation and
generates a high volume of truck, passenger car and pedestrian
traffic.
This alley has been used on at least two occasions as the
escape route for Armed Robbers leaving the Super Market
and providing a dark cover which has enhanced their ability
to hide from Police.
Sincerely,
/s/ Donald L. Strahan
Safety Director
