HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-03-1974 237 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JULY 3, 1974 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, • met in regular session July 3, 1974, at the hourof 9:00 a.m. . Mr. Judge presided with Mr. Burton and Mr. Willis present. The following business was had to-wit: Mr. Judge moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded by Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Lewis E. Doren, Police Chief, presented the following letter: BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY Jerald J. Judge, President Dear Board Members: I recommend that Claude Wayne Loudy, age 25, of 403 1/2 N.W. "L" Street, be appointed a Probationary Patrolman on the Richmond Police Department. Mr. Loudy has successfully completed all mental and physical examinations as required by this Department. Mr. Loudy is married and has one child. He is a graduate of Ball State University with a Degree in Business Admini- stration. Please make this appointment effective July 8, 1974. Doren Chief of Police Mr. Judge moved to appoint Cluade Wayne Loudy as Probationary Patrolman of the Richmond Police Department, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Safety Director, Donald L. Strahan and Police Chief Lewis E. Doren presented Patrolman Dale Sharits with a Certificate of Commen- dation for displaying exceptional courage and ability while under fire in effecting the arrest of a wanted felon on June 26, 1974. Captain Scott Loper, Traffic Division reported he would check into parking on North llth Street and lights at North 10th & "J" Streets. Safety Director, Donald L. Strahan reported an experimental lime yellow school cross walk was painted at South 24th and "E"_ Street. Mr. Judge moved to authorize - installation of seven street lights at Shamrock Court and Irish Hills, tow street lights on Campbell Avenue and one street light on existing pole at N.W. 17th to 18th Streets, north of West Main, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Burton moved to accept and file proof of publication for adver- tising of bids to be taken for bus benches, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
