HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-31-1974 /�5 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JANUARY 31 , 1974 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session January 31 , 1974, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal Building in said City. Mr. Judge presided with Mr. Burton present. The following business was had to-wit: Mr. Terry Hill , Youth Director at the First United Methodist Church appeared before the Board to request permission to conduct a paper drive March 29th, 30th and 31st at the Church. Flyers would be distributed February 2nd, 9th and 16th advertising the paper drive. Mr. Judge moved to grant permission for the paper drive, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Judge moved to accept and file proof of publication advertising for bids for tree removal for 1974, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. One bid for 1974 tree removal was received from Foister Miracle Tree Service in the amount of $27.00 per tree. Mr. Burton moved to take tree removal bid under advisement, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Judge moved to sign contract with Rogers Bird Exterminating Company to. exterminate birds on the U.S. 27 North Bridge in the amount of $250.00, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Judge moved upon recommendation of Administrative Assistant Charles Howell to award contract to Dayton Stencil in the amount of $17,865.00 for Parking Device for the parking lot behind the Elder-Beerman Store, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
