HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-10-1974 PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JANUARY 1.0, 1974 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session January 10, 1974, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Muni- cipal Building of said City. Mr. Judge presided with Mr. Burton and Mr. Willis present. The following business was had to-wit: Mr. Willis moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Building Commissioner Claude E. Goins presented the following report: January 7,1974 Board of Public Works and Safety 50 North 5th Street Richmond, Indiana Gentlemen:. The following is a report from the Bureau of Buildings for the month of December, 1973. Month No. of Dwellings Evaluation Total Permits December 1973 4 $ 115,000.00 110 December 1972 56 1 ,318,617.00 153 November 1973 2 25,000.00 62 TOTAL COST December 1973 $ 326,250.00 December 1972 2,260,192.00 Total Permit fees for December 1973 $ 687.00 Total Permit fees for December 1972 2,120.00 Total number of inspections made by this department in the month of December 1973, 286. Richmond Systematic Housing Survey Inspections totaled 165 this month. Dwellings Condemned in December 1973 - 0 Outbuildings Condemned in December 1973 - 0 Number of Dwellings Razed in December 1973 - 2 Number of Outbuildings Razed in December 1973 - 1 Respectfully Submitted, /s/ Claude E. Goins Building Commissioner Mr. Judge moved to approve carry-overs from the 1973 budget to the 1974 budget as per the attached list, seconded by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Judge reported he has been in contact with Tom Atkinson of the Wayne Co. Health Dept. regarding the insulation coming from Johns-Manville. Mr. Atkinson contacted the State Board of Health regarding the problem. A recommendation will be made by the Board after hearing from the State Board of Health. Mr. Ed Brantner appeared regarding the oil spillage at LaBar Truck Rentals & Sales. City Engineer Ralph Willis will check into the matter and a recommendation will be made to Mr. Brantner. Mr. Brantner requested street lights be installed on Garwood Road. Mr. Judge said this request for street lights on Garwood Road would be referred to the Street lighting committee.
