BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, DECEMBER 20, 1973
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session December 20, 1973, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the
Municipal Building of said City. Mr. Judge presided with Mr. Burton and
Mr. Willis present. The following business was had to-wit:
Mr. Burton moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded
by Mr.. Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
Mr. Sherman Fleming appeared before the Board regarding condemnation of
the Old School Administration Building on South 10th Street. Mr. Fleming
reported he would secure the building.
Mr. Burton moved as per recommendation of Building Commissioner Claude E.
Goins to set March 28, 1974 at 9:00 a.m. to have Mr. Fleming report back
to the Board to show progress being made to bring the Building up to code,
seconded by Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
Mr. Ted Ooyevaar appeared before the Board regarding condemned dwelling at
410 North 15th Street.
Mr. Burton moved upon recommendation of Building Commissioner Goins to set
hearing for March 28th at 9:10 a.m. for Mr. Ooyevaar to show progress being
made on dwelling at 410 North 15th Street.
Mr. Burton moved to accept and file proof of publication for bids on vacuum
sweeper, seconced by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was
carried.
The following bids were received for vacuum sweeper: Seastrom, Inc.
in the amount of $29,875.00 and Ries Equipment Co. , Inc. in the amount
of $29,935.00.
Mr. Judge moved to take bids under advisement for study by the Administrative
Assistant Charles Howell and Street Commissioner Elmer Toschlog, seconded
by Mr. Burton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
Mr. Burton moved to sign contract with Don Lindley for City Bus advertising
from January 1 , 1974 to December 31 , 1974, seconded by Mr. Judge and on
unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed,
the meeting was adjourned.
