Each board, commission, or agency of this state or of any political subdivision thereof shall include in the notice of any meeting or hearing, if notice of the meeting or hearing is required, of such board, commission, or agency, conspicuously on such notice, the advice that, if a person decides to appeal any decision made by the board, agency, or commission with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. Page 1 of 7 Citizen’s Advisory Council Minutes December 14, 2021 6:00 PM Council Chambers The Regular Meeting of Citizen’s Advisory Council was called to order at 6:00 P.M 1. Called to Order This meeting was called to order by the Mr. Knox at 6:00 p.m. 2. Pledge of Allegiance The pledge was recited by membership in attendance. 3. Mayor’s Time Mayor Whitten stated that he will not be in attendance for the next two meetings in January and February but there will be an elected official attending those meetings in his absence. He then announced the upcoming December Community events. 4. Approve Agenda Chairman Knox asked for action to approve the Agenda A motion made by a Council member to accept and approve the Agenda. Seconded by a Council member with all yeas the motion was approved by unanimous vote. 5. Action Items 5.1 Approval of September 14, 2021, Minutes Chairman Knox asked for action to approve minutes from September 14, 2021. A motion made by a Council member to approve the minutes from September 14, 2021. Seconded by a Council member with all yeas the motion was approved by unanimous vote. 5.2 Skate Competition Discussion ensued concerning the planning of holding a competition at the skate park. 5.3 Food Truck Festival The council discussed whether or not to bring this type of festival to the city. 5.4 Crestview International Festival Page 2 of 7 2 CAC Minutes 12/14/2021 The council discussed the possibility of planning an International Festival being that the city reflects diverse cultures. A discussion ensued concerning the ins and outs of having an event of that size. 5.5 Increased parking at the Northview Park Mayor Whitten noted that when the disc golf portion opens that parking will addressed. 6. Called to Order This meeting was called to order by the Mr. Knox at 6:00 p.m. 2. Pledge of Allegiance The pledge was recited by membership in attendance. 3. Approve Agenda Chairman Knox asked for action to approve the agenda with the addition of the new member and removal of Action Item 4.2 (Food Truck and International Festival Form). He then asked for action. A motion made by a Council member to accept and approve the amended Agenda. Seconded by a Council member with all yeas the motion was approved by unanimous vote. 4. Action Items Mr. Knox introduced the newest board member Kristin Salberg. Ms. Salberg gave a brief introduction of who she is and why she wanted to join the board. 4.1 Skate Competition The board gave an update of having a skate competition. A discussion ensued concerning sponsors for door prizes and prizes, insurance, and fundraising. 4.2 Food Truck Festival and International Festival Form (Item removed) 4.3 Approval of draft minutes for June 8, 2021; July 13, 2021; September 14, 2021, and October 12, 2021. Chairman Knox asked for action. A consensus given to approve the minutes at the next meeting. 5. Page 5 of 7 Citizen’s Advisory Council Minutes April 12, 2022 6:00 PM Council Chambers The Regular Meeting of Citizen’s Advisory Council was called to order at 6:00 P.M. Members present were Ryan Knox, Roy Estes, Kristen Sallberg, and Jen Sweeney. 1. Called to Order This meeting was called to order by the Mr. Knox at 6:00 p.m. 2. Pledge of Allegiance The pledge was recited by membership in attendance. 3. Comments 3.1 Introduction of new member-Jennifer Sweeney Ms. Sweeny introduced herself to the members in attendance. 4. Approve Agenda Chairman Knox noted that there are some changes to be made on the minutes before approval can happen and then asked for action on the agenda. A motion was made by a councilmember to approve the agenda. The motion was seconded and approved by unanimous vote. 5. Action Items 5.1 Approval of December 14, 2021, CAC Minutes-Draft 5.2 Approval of January 11, 2022, CAC Minutes-Draft 5.3 Arbor Day Update Chairman Knox gave a briefing of the upcoming Arbor Day event. Sheila Dunning, Horticulture Agent spoke to the Council about the background of the McMahon Environmental Center and the upcoming changes/upgrade to the center. Page 6 of 7 2 CAC Minutes 01/11/2022 A brief discussion ensued. Chairman Knox discussed the invitation list and any changes that might need to be made. Chairman Knox opened the floor for comments. Mayor Pro-Tem Hayes welcomed the new council member. A member inquired about the difference of the jurisdiction of the city and the county. A discussion ensued. 6.
