SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS — MEETING OF
MARCH 20, 2013
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission
actions from their meeting of March 20, 2013.
BACKGROUND:
On March 20, 2013, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly
scheduled meeting.
ANALYSIS:
Following is a summary of actions taken at the March 20, 2013 Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting:
1. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner—Haddad, Georgino, Fish
Absent: Commissioner—Arrighi, Wong
2. CONSENT CALENDAR
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes from their Regular
Meeting of February 20, 2013, and received and filed the monthly reports for
February 2013.

3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
The Parks and Recreation Commission received an update on the Parks and
Open Space Master Plan.
4. NEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FROM GLOBAL EVANGELISTIC MISSION FOR RESERVED
USE OF THE PERFORMING ARTS PAVILION FOR A PRAYER
MEETING ON SUNDAY, MAY 19, 2013 AND AUTHORIZATION TO
HANG BANNERS IN THE PARK ADVERTISING THE EVENT
The Commission approved the request.
B. REQUEST FOR CONSIDERATION OF A FEE WAIVER FOR
RESERVED USE OF THE PERFORMING ARTS PAVILION FOR THE
2013 NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER ON MAY 2, 2013 AND FOR
PLACEMENT OF A BANNER IN TEMPLE CITY PARK ANNOUNCING
THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
The Commission approved the request.
C. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR
RESERVED USE OF TEMPLE CITY PARK FOR A HEALTH FAIR ON
MAY 4, 2013
The Commission approved the request.
5. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
A. The Commission received and filed the Parks and Recreation Director's
Report for March 2013.
CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file this report.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2012-13 City Budget.
