HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-19-1973 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, APRIL 19, 1973 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session April 19, 1973 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal Building of said City. Mr. Judge presided with Mr. Benner and Miss Wynegar present. The following business was had to-wit: Miss Wynegar moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded by Mr. Benner and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 111 Mr. Matt Nepote, Redevelopment Director,presented to the Board a plaque from the American Association of Nurserymen, Inc. which was awarded to Richmond on behalf of the Downtown Mall . Mr. Douglas Oler requested the Board's permission to have an awning installed at the Speciality Record Shop. Plans for the awning were presented to the Board. Mr. Benner moved to take the request for the awning under advisement until the next meeting, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Judge moved to take bids for Rubber Railroad Crossings on May 3, 1973, at 9:30 a.m. , seconded by Miss Wynegar and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Judge moved to set a meeting for the purpose of negotiations with the Fire- men at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 1973 and at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 1973 with the Policemen, seconded by Miss Wynegar and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Benner moved to approve proof of publication for taking bids for truck chassis for Slurry Machine and Street Flusher, seconded by Miss Wynegar and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Bids for Street Flusher Chassis were received from Key GMC Truck Sales in the amount of $7,239.00 and from Fred First, Inc. in the amount of $7,284.05. Bids for Slurry Chassis were received from Key GMC Truck Sales in the amount of $11 ,337.00 and from Fred First, Inc. in the amount of $11 ,912.17. Mr. Benner moved to take bids for Street Flusher Chassis and Slurry Chassis under advisement until the next meeting, seconded by Miss Wynegar and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Judge moved to sign the TOPICS Agreement and the Maintenance Agreement with the State of Indiana, seconded by Miss Wynegar and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Both copies are on file in the office of the City Clerk. Miss Wynegar moved to accept the Design for the TOPICS Study, which is on file in the City Clerk's office, seconded by Mr. Benner and on unanimousvoice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Judge moved to set a public auction for the purpose of selling unneeded Police cars on Saturday, May 12, 1973, at 2:00 p.m. on the Municipal Parking Lot, seconded by Mr. Benner and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
