BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MARCH 15, 1973
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
regular session March 15, 1973, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal Building
of said City. Mr. Judge presided with Mr. Benner and Miss Wynegar present. The
following business was had to-wit:
Miss Wynegar moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded by
Mr. Benner and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
Mr. Henry Luerman, 702 South "J" Street, appeared before the Board to request a
Street Light on South "J" Street between 7th and 8th treets.
Miss Wynegar moved to take this street light request under advisement until the
next meeting, seconded by Mr.;_ Benner and on Unanimous voice vote the motion
was carried.
Mr. Benner moved to take bids for one street flusher and;one slurry seal.machine
on March 29, 1973 at 9:30 a.m. , seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote
the motion was carried.
Mr. Benner moved to approve a Curb Cut at 1442 Northwest 5th Street, seconded by
Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
Fire Chief, William Berry, presented the following letter to the Board:

Dear Sir:
The following is presented to the Board of Public Works and Safety
for action.
Permission for Fire Marshal Claude Loudy and Drillmaster Larry
Bosell to attend the "Fire Command Seminar" on March 24-25, 1973.
Permission for Fire Marshal Claude Loudy and Drillmaster Larry
Bosell to attend the "Fire Department Instructors Conference"
on March 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 1973.
Both schools will be held in Kansas City, Mo.
There are funds available for both of these schools.

Mr. Judge moved to grant permission for Fire Marshal Claude Loudy and Drillmaster
Larry Bosell to attend both schools, seconded by Miss Wynegar and on unanimous
voice vote the motion was granted.
Mr. Judge moved the Board adopt Improvement Resolution No. 1100-1973 for
Sanitary Sewer on South "L" Street,from 20th to 23rd Streets, seconded by Mr.
Benner and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
Miss Wynegar requested an ordinance be prepared for the next council meeting appro-
priateing funds to be used for the Public Transit Fund, seconded by Mr. Benner
and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
Mr. Judge moved to accept buds for six (6) economy cars for the City Departments
on April 5, 1973, at 9:30 a.m. ,seconded by Mr. Benner and on uanimous voice vote
the 'motion was carried.
Mr. Judge discussed the possiblity of selling the used police cars at a public
auction after publication as required by law.

The Board received a letter from Mr. Russell Commons stating his intention to
demolish the dwelling he owns, located at 14 Southwest 2nd Street.
There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded .and passed the
meeting was adjourned.
