HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-08-1973 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MARCH 8, 1973 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session March 8, 1973, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal Building of said City. Mr. Judge presided with Mr. Benner and Miss Wynegar present. The following business was had to-wit: Miss Wynegar moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded by Mr. Benner and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Housing Code Inspector, Tom Koorsen, reported the Mr. Russell Commons needed an electrical permit and a building permit to complete repairs on dwelling he owns located at 14 Southwest 2nd Street, Mr. Commons was given until the next meeting to appear and show ,his intentions regarding repairs of his dwelling. Mr. Judge, on behalf of the Board of Works , extended congratulations to the "Red Devils" and wished them good luck at the Semi-State Basketball game. Police Chief, Donald Strahan, requested permission from the Board for Police cars and officers for escort to the Semi-State Basketball game. Mr. Judge moved to grant permission for the police escort to the Semi-State seconded by Mr. Benner and on unanimous voice the motion was carried. Mr. Benner moved the Board accept the Barrett Law Final Assessment Roll for the sanitary sewer on Straight Line Pike, seconded by Mr. Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Public hearing was set for March 29, 1973 in the Board of Works room at 9:30 a.m. Mr. Judge moved to accept the right-of-way and road maintainance for 1 .08 miles of Cart Road as recommended by the Engineering Department, seconded by Mr. Benner and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Judge moved the Board authorized installation of six (6) overhead street lights on existing poles at the intersection of South 9th Street and Boston Pike, as requested by Councilman Philip Marino, seconded by Miss Wynegar and on unanimous voice vote the motion was passed.
