HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-26-2022 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA, MAY 26,2022 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., May 26, 2022 in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson, Emily Palmer and Matt Evans. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Lieutenant Donnie Benedict;Deputy Fire Chief Andy Buckler;Beth Fields,Community Strategist; and Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms.Palmer moved to approve the minutes of May 19,2022, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for May 27, 2022 in the amount of Eighty Four Thousand One Hundred Fifty Seven Dollars and twenty one cents($84,157.27.21),supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve a Special Payroll Claims for Payment for May 27, 2022 in the amount of Four Hundred Ninety Dollars and no cents ($490.00). Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION Mr. Evans moved to approve the Payroll Claims for Payment for Pension in the amount of Two Hundred Sixty Eight Thousand One Hundred Ninety Eight Dollars and forty three cents ($268,198.43), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REQUESTS • HANDICAP SIGN RENEWALS Board of Public Works and Safety May 26,2022 320 South 12th Street 121 SW"E" Street 722 North 15th Street 510 North 20th Street 310 North 19th Street 1707 SW"A" Street Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva vice,the motion carried. • STREET CLOSURES Richmond Farmer's Market They are requesting to close North Service Street between North 6th Street and North 7th Street on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the months of May, June, July, August, and September for the Food Truck Vendors. The closure of street parking on North 6th and North 7th Streets along sides of the plaza on Wednesdays 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in the months of May, June, July, August, and September for the Food Truck vendors to set up. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva vice,the motion carried. Parks Department Neighborhood Movie Night They are requesting approval to shut the lights off at Elstro Plaza from Friday June 3, 2022 and restore them the following Monday. They already have approval from Skip Moore at RP&L. Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva vice,the motion carried. Scarrette Pryotechnics LLC Richmond Jazz Game On June 30, 2022 they are requesting to close Peacock Road between NW 13th Street and NW 11th Street from 5:30 p.m.-11:30 p.m. to let off fireworks for the Richmond Jazz game. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva vice,the motion carried. Birthday Celebration Block party Board of Public Works and Safety May 26,2022 On Saturday July 9, 2022 they are requesting a street closure at the corner on South G Street between South 10th Street and the alley behind 701 South 10th Street from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Family lives at 701 South 10th Street. Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva vice,the motion carried. Ms. Palmer moved to approve a noise variance for the event, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva vice, the motion carried. BID OPENINGS -None BID AWARDS • 100 FOOT AERIAL LADDER TRUCK FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT 911 Fleet&Fire Equipment Not to exceed $1,563,773.00 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva vice,the motion carried. CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 86-2022—A&M CONSTRUCTION SOLUTIONS LLC The City retains Contractor to provide on-call general repairs and maintenance for Richmond Fire Stations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and for the Izzy David Edelman Police and Fire Training and Physical Fitness Center located at 1740 South 8th Street. Services during daytime working hours for Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at an hourly rate of$45.00 per hour and a 15%material markup fee. Whitewater Valley Construction didn't respond. Ms.Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva vice,the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 88-2022—TRC ENVIRONMENTAL CORPORATION The City retains Contractor to provide consulting and technical support including but not limited to pre-demolition activities in connection with the upcoming demolition of the former mechanics laundry facility located at 1002 North E Street. Not to exceed $29,500.00 Mr.Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva vice,the motion carried.
