J- No. 16 -157 Date of Adoption Septe ' 1, 2016 I AWARDING BID FOR 2016 ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Borough has publicly advertised for the receipt of bids for the 2016 Road Improvement Program; and WHEREAS, the Borough has solicited and received seven (7) bid proposals for the 2016 Road Improvement as follows: Total Amount I. Z Brothers Concrete Contractors, LLC $ 336.067.50 2. Konkus Corporation $ 345.903.15 3. JTG Construction, hie. S 351.352.00 4. Black Rock Enterpriser, LLC $ 389,593.02 5, Top Line Construction, Corp. S392,563.3 6. Lucas Construction Group $398,398.0 7. Lucas Brothers, Inc. $ 406,145.00 WHEREAS, Z Brothers Concrete Contractors, LLC, has submitted the lowest bid for said contract as evidenced by the response on file with the Borough's Purchasing Department and with the Borough Engineer; and NHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has reviewed the above bid proposals and has recommended the award of a contract to Z Brothers Concrete Contractors, LLC, in a total amount not to exceed $336,067.50 and WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available for said Purpose. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret as follows: I. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Z Brothers Concrete Contractors, LLC, Sayreville, N.J. for the 2016 Road Improvement Program for the sum of $336,067.50 in accordance in all respects with the request for proposals and bid on same. 2. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing Department and Borough Engineer. 3. That the aforementioned award of bid is contingent upon formal approval from the New Jersey Department of Labor, Division of Wage and Hour Compliance. Award of the contract to the low bidder, Z Brothers Concrete Contractors, LLC, 304 Jernee Mill Road, Sayreville, NJ 08872 within 60 calendar days, on a unit price basis in the total amount of $336,067.50 for bid Items 1 through 25 inclusive, as available funding permits. The award should be subject to review and approval by the Borough Attorney, Including concurrence to waive the minor irregularities, the review of the bid bond and surely from the low bidder, and submission of the required bonds and Insurance certificates for the project. 2. Bids and bid securities of the second . and third low bidder, Konkus Corporation and JTG Construction, Inc., be retained and held open, pending execution of the contract agreement by Z Brothers Concrete Contractors, LLC. By copy of this letter, we are requesting the Borough Attorney prepare the necessary Resolution of Award.
