Danny,
Dimming depends on the equipment and desired parameters.
Is he looking for a one time system to dim for a demonstration and then he will pick a permanent level to order?
Or are they looking for a fixture that project wide will dim on a timing system. Example: all light dim after 11 PM or all
light dim after 6 hours.
Once I know the usage I can recommend a system.
Sincerely,
M Imparato

Michael, Does this fixture have the capability to be dimmed by the owner if he so desires and if so to what
extent? 10% 20% 50% 100%

John,
I have requested a diagram and schematic to show you how to disconnect one of the drivers. Everything is connected
with harnesses and connectors so it should be relatively easy once you get inside the fixture, butI will get you the
schematic.
The Lifeshield is as Danny mentioned. If the fixture starts to overheat (day burners on a 110F degree day) the system will
lower its own temperature to 79C degrees to keep from damaging anything or shortening the life.
Sincerely,
M Imparato

Found this online. In the section describing the “LifeShield Circuit” it does mention an
incorporated dimmable 1-10 Volt driver but there are no instructions as to how to manipulate
that. Ideas?
Thanks,

John,
I realize LED fixtures are somewhat new technology. Are you familiar with the “Driver” device in an LED
fixture?

Dear Danny:
Here is a quick way to reduce the light output of the sample fixture. This comment is from the engineer at Beacon:
“Two drivers in the fixture.
Disconnect one driver and move the engine wires to the other driver, that way you’ll get 27W fixture.”
Also, I am awaiting on information as t dimming the fixture. Beacon does not recommend putting the frosted lenses in.
One recommendation would be to eliminate the lenses, as they are not really required with the LEDs. We do that quite
often so we still have the same appearance, without the maintenance required cleaning lenses, etc.
Going to a 3000K color temperature reduce the light output about 15%. I could bring a 3000K demo lamp to you so they
could see the difference in color temperature. Please let me know if you need one.
Finally, my experience has been, when people are evaluating any type of light fixture, indoors or outdoors, they are
focusing on the fixture, looking directly at it, etc. I commonly get comments about the brightness, etc., but when fixtures
are in normal use, people usually do not pay that much attention. If we were still using a metal halide or HPS option, and
people looked at the fixture, they would probably still complain about “glare”.
Regards,
