AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT WITH
EXCEL ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES, INC.
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of professional environmental services related to
a Remedial Action Workplan and engineering design with regard to the Carteret Waterfront
Redevelopment Cove /Marina Remedial Action; and
WHEREAS, Excel Environmental Resources, Inc. possesses the requisite knowledge, training,
experience and professional license to provide said services; and has submitted a proposal to
provide said services at a cost not to exceed a total amount of $47,323.29; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available for said
purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
Carteret as follows:
The proposal from Excel Environmental Resources, Inc. for professional
environmental services related to the work plan and engineering design with
regard to the Carteret Waterfront CoveA,larma Remedial Action at a total cost
of $189,293.17 with the NJEDA disbursement of $141,969.88 and the
Borough's match for the HDSRF Remedial Action Grant not to exceed
$47,323.29, which represents the 25% at the rate set forth in Excel
Environmental Resources, Inc.'s existing contract with the Borough is hereby
approved.
2. Amtexed hereto is a copy of said proposal.
3. This action is approved as an award of a professional services contract
pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11- 5(1)(a) in accordance with the Borough's Fair
and Open Process as authorized by law.
4. A copy of this Resolution to be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing
Department and Excel Environmental Resources, Inc.
