OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, APRIL 30, 1972 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session April 20, 1972, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal Building of said City. Mr. Judge presided with Mr. Benner and Miss Wynegar present. The following business was had to-wit: Miss Wynegar moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded by Mr. Benner, and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Al Mangus;requested permission to hold the annual Shriner's Parade August 5, 1972, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. , planning for 100 units. Mr. Benner moved the Board approve the parade plans, subject to coordination with the Traffic Division, seconded by Miss Wynegar and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Judge moved the Board refer to the Traffic Division a request from Councilman Mills for a restricted parking area at 349 Southwest 3rd Street, seconded by Miss Wynegar, and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Judge moved to hold under advisement a, Street Lighting request :at the corner of Garwood Road and South "B" Street, seconded by Mr. Benner, and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Planning Director Rick Freeman reported that an unsafe situation exists at Scottie's Restaurant, on U.S. 27, between North "I" and "H" Streets, because the State Highway has not yet approved their curb cut permit, leaving only one access to the restaurant. The parking lot is not paved, contrary to regulations. Mr. Freeman recommended the Board check into the status of the State curb cut permit, and also notify the owners that this situation will not be allowed to go on indefinitely.
