HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-14-1971 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA , OCTOBER 14, 1971 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session October 14, 1971 , at the hour of 9:00 a .m. in the Muncipal Building of said City . Mr . Cecere presided with Mr . Benner and Mr . Judge present . The following business was had to-wit : Mr . Judge moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded by Mr . Benner, and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried . Mr . Judge moved the Board approve a request from the Bureau of Buildings to have a resolution prepared for Council ' s consid- eration to transfer the sum of $175 .00 from General G-17 Tires and Tubes (Supplies ) 3-32-323 to General G-15 Gasoline (Supplies ) 3-32-321 , seconded by Mr . Benner , and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr . Benner moved the Board approve a request from the City Controller to have a resolution prepared for Council ' s consid- eration to transfer the sum of $15 , 131 .00 from J-22 Ambulance Service ($13 ,000.00) (2-26-264) Services Contractual and from J-34 Hospital Insurance ($2, 131 .00) (5-51a) Current Charges to J-14 Water ($15 , 100 .00) (2-22-224) Services Contractual and to • J-45 Taxes ($31 .00) ( 6-65) Current Obligations, seconded by Mr . Judge and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried . Mr . Judge moved the Board approve a request from the Weights & Measures Department to have a resolution prepared for Council ' s consideration to transfer the sum of $21 .00 from K-3 (2-21 -213) Travel Expenses "Services Contractual " to K-14 (5-55) Subscrip- tions and Dues "Current Charges", seconded by Mr . Benner, and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried . Building Commissioner Ed Goins recommended the Board order Potter Excavating in to show cause why their razing permit for the Glick Apartments should not be revoked because of their failure to promptly demolish the building formerly known as the Glick Apartments . Mr . Judge moved the Board approve the Building Commissioner ' s recommendation, seconded by Mr . Benner, and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. The Building Commissioner recommended the Board order Mrs . Van Middlesworth in to explain why work has not started to either demolish or bring up to code her property located at 1038 South 8th Street and condemned on January 7, 1971 , to be demolished by March 7 , 1971 . Mayor Byron Klute reported a request for a traffic study to see if a crossing guard is warranted at the intersections of South 23rd and "E " Streets , and 24th and "E" Streets . Mr . Judge moved the Board refer the request to the Traffic Division, seconded by Mr . Benner , and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried .
