THE' CITY Or RICHMOND, INDIANA, DUNE' 15', 1971 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in special session June 15, 1971 , at the -hour of 10: 30 a.m. in the Muncipal Building of said City . Mr . Judge presided with Mr . Benner present . The following business was had to-wit: Mr . Judge explained .the special meeting had been called for the purpose of dedicating the service drives between North 5th and 7th Streets from the 'Department of Redevelopment to the City of Richmond . Mayor Klute recommended the Board accept the service drives, Mr . Judge moved to accept the recommendation, seconded by Mr . Benner , and -on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried . • • Mayor Klute recommended that the no parking restrictions be enforced, the service drives to be used for the purpose of a loading and unloading zone. North 5th to North 6th is to be complete June 15th, and North 6th to North 7th will be striped the 15th of June also. • Redevelopment Commissioner Matt Napote said he was very happy that the dedication could happen, and mentioned that the land at 5th and Main Street has been sold. Mayor Klute said that he hoped an ordinance for Off-Street parking funds to pave parking lots will be brought before Council soon . Mr . Napote reported that the. service drives on the South side of Main Street between 5th and 6th Streets are under construction . Mayor Klute . reported that there will be a meeting between the City Engineer, Street Commissioner and Redevelopment Commission, Thursday June 17, at the hour of 200 p.m. to work out repaving schedules for Main Street without having -too much torn up at any one time . Mayor Klute said that the service drives and sale of land should give everyone a ray of hope, that things are looking up. Mr . Napote reported that the service drives are being built b-y A & D Excavating Company . There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and • passed, the meeting was adjourned .
