Michael Imparato was the head of the company before it was bought out by Hubbell. He is now the chief Marketing Consultant. He is an expert on their process. As the purpose of this coordination effort is to attempt to have paint on the lights and signs that will look the same in ten years, I will just include Michael in this email. IF it works out that we cannot coordinate this, just let me know. Maybe some conversation between you guys might be useful to determine if this will work or not. We have installed signage at Jonathan’s Landing over a year ago and it is pristine. Perhaps you could ask Beacon the type powder coatings process they use and which materials are applied to their products. Beacon Products (www.beaconproducts.com) sells street lighting and were originally in the coatings business. We have visited some of their installations and their coating process is unusually good. The Town is interested in the colors having the same fading characteristics. Although, the lights they coat don’t seem to fade, even after 10 years. I don’t know if the quantity of this order will create an excessive additional cost to use another power coating product. Limited Warranty (Finish): Beacon Products warrants its Beacote-V (AAMA 2604) and Beacote-X (AAMA 2605) paint finishes, to the original purchaser, for 5 years (AAMA 2604) and 10 years (AAMA 2605) after date of production, when properly installed, maintained and appropriately specified. The customer shall then notify Beacon Products within 10 working days of observing any defects, other than normal wear and tear, gloss/color retention, as determined by the manufacturers published specifications. We will repair, or at our option, replace the defective finish if it exhibits cracking, peeling, excessive fading or corrosion defects during the warranty period. Danny P. Brannon, P.E. In our painting process, we use Mathews Polyurethane Acrylic Enamel, which can be cross matched with a Sherwin-Williams paint product. If it is liquid, we cannot help them, they can probably use match to the chips. Most sign guys use a Mathews mixing system in house that will get very close. They will likely have their street sign folks paint their signs with the same paint so the lights and the signs weather together. Can I get samples of the Green Colors (both smooth and textured finishes). After verifying the color is what they want, I will request the MFG info so the sign company can order the paint.
