Home My Public Portal AboutResolution 21-21 Ratifying Bond Election Results r� City of McCall RESOLUTION NO. 21-21 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McCALL,VALLEY COUNTY, IDAHO, RATIFYING THE VALLEY COUNTY COMMISSIONERS CANVASS OF THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND ELECTION HELD ON MAY 18, 2021,FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY A PROPOSITION FOR THE ISSUANCE OF NEGOTIABLE GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OF THE CITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, a special general obligation bond election was duly held on May 18, 2021, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the City of McCall (the "City") a proposition for the issuance of negotiable general obligation bonds of the city, as set forth in Ordinance No. 999 of the City, adopted on February 11, 2021; and WHEREAS, the judges and clerks of the election have conducted the election and made their return in the manner provided by law; and WHEREAS, on May 24,2021 the Valley County Commissioners,acting as a Board of Canvassers of Election, conducted a canvass of the votes and declared the results of the election; and WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to ratify the County's canvass. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McCALL, VALLEY COUNTY,IDAHO, as follows: Section 1: ELECTION The special general obligation bond election of May 18, 2021, was duly and regularly called, noticed,held,and conducted,the votes cast thereat received and canvassed,and the returns thereof made in the time, form, and manner required by law and by the ordinances, resolutions, and proceedings taken by the County. Section 2: CANVASS The Valley County Commissioners, acting as a Board of Canvassers of Election, have examined the returns of the special general obligation bond election, and have canvassed the returns and declared the results of the election on the proposition of whether or not the City of McCall, Idaho, should issue such bonds and make provisions for the payment of principal and interest due on such bonds, as set forth in Ordinance 999 of the City, adopted on March 11, 2021. The official canvass results are attached as Attachment A. Page 1 of 2 Resolution 21-21 General Obligation Bond Election Results May 27,2021 The total number of votes cast at said election for and against the proposition was as follows: Total votes cast, 780; votes for, 608; votes against, 172. Therefore, the proposition passes with 77.95% in favor, as 66.67% of total votes must be in favor as required pursuant to Idaho Code §50-1026. Section 3: RATIFICATION The City hereby ratifies all actions taken by the County in connection with the special general obligation bond election, the publication of notice thereof, the preparation and printing of ballots and sample ballots used at the election, and all other matters connected therewith, are hereby in all respects ratified, approved, and confirmed. Section 4: EFFECTIVE DATE This Resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval. PASSED by the City Council of the City of McCall this 27th day of May 2021.
