A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
THE CONTRACT, AS EXECUTED BY HAWKEYE PAVING CORPORATION, AND
AWARDED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RIVERDALE, FOR THE RIVERDALE ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT AT THE
CONTRACT PRICE OF $1,884,257.00
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Riverdale, Iowa ("Riverdale"), upon prior published
notice, held a public heazing on December 6, 2011, to present to the public the plans and
specifications, including form of contract, bid documents and estimated total cost for a public
improvement project referred to as the 2012 Road Reconstruction Project; and
WHEREAS, Riverdale approved the plans and specifications, including form of contract, bid
documents and estimated cost of the project, and advertised for sealed bids by publishing notice
to bidders; and
WHEREAS, Hawkeye Paving Corporation of Bettendorf, Iowa ("Hawkeye Paving"), submitted
the lowest responsive, responsible bid for the project, and Riverdale accepted the bid and
awazded the contract to Hawkeye Paving, subject to fulfillment of bidding and contract
requirements, and approval of the performance bond of Hawkeye Paving and the contract in final
form executed by Hawkeye Paving;
WHEREAS, Riverdale approved the contract in final form executed by Hawkeye Paving and the
performance bond filed by Hawkeye Paving.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City Riverdale, Iowa, that
the Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem and City Clerk are hereby directed to sign and execute the contract
approved by the City Council with Hawkeye Paving for work on the above-described public
improvements at a cost of $1,884,257.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the bid securities of the unsuccessful bidders shall be
returned to them.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 21st DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2012.
