A Matter of Balance returns with 8 weeks of falls prevention tips and strength exercises; the Watertown SENIOR CENTER MONTH Fire Department will begin a 3-week series on fire and life safety; we will be hosting a Senior Charlie Card day; and we will be holding different presentations on Housing Options, Dental Health, and what Rideshare is all about. Keep Fit with Joanna returns on Thursdays and Tai Chi with Marie and Strength and Balance with Pearl return on Fridays. Our Fall Trips are on Sale now. We will be taking our Senior Shuttle to Wayland for lunch and to the Christmas Tree Shop in Natick, and we will be traveling with Fox Tours in October for a trip to Stockbridge and the Norman Rockwell Museum, and a trip to Newport, RI for a holiday excursion. If you are a MassHealth member, you may be eligible for non -emergency transportation to and from your MassHealth covered services when you are unable to access public or private transport. Services include but are not limited to doctors' appointments, counseling, and day habilitation. If you have Springwell services, ask your Care Manager to fill out and mail for you a Prescription for Transportation (PT-1) form on your behalf. You will receive a letter in the mail informing you that your PT-1 has been approved or denied. If you're approved, you will receive instructions on how to set up your transportation. If Watertown denied, you will be given a reason for the denial and information on how to Nea/th appeal it. Homeowners age 60 and older who are retired and meet eligibility guidelines, can apply through the Senior Center for this program that offers jobs Tuesday, October 15 in Town Departments for up to a $1,500 deduction.
