Carteret was called to order by Mayor Daniel J. Reiman at 6:00
P.M., Thursday, September 15, 2016, in the Council Chambers of
the Memorial Municipal Building, 61 Cooke Avenue, Carteret,
New Jersey.
Upon Individual Roll Call Vote the following were noted present: RY I, CALL
Councilmember Jorge Diaz
" Dennis DiMascio
Ajmar Johal
Randy Krum
Susan Naples
Noted Absent was Council President Vincent Bellino.
Also noted present was Kathleen M. Barney, Municipal Clerk and
Robert J. Bergen, Law Director.
The meeting was opened with a moment of silent prayer and the Nnmt of Silent
Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Daniel J. Reiman. dye' and Ple9ge
of Allegiare
The Clerk stated that on January 4, 2016 The 2016 Annual Notice SDUBgNr OF
was mailed to The Home News Tribune, The Star Ledger and WEOM NMCE
posted on the Bulletin Board. Notice was published in The Home
News Tribune on January 5, 2016 and The Star Ledger on January
6, 2016,

ORDINANCE #16 -24 was introduced and adopted on First
Reading and the Clerk authorized and directed to advertise same
for Public Hearing to be held on

Mayor Reiman explained that this ordinance is to ensure that Mayor Reiam
although they can be parked in private property in a driveway
they can't be operating as a business in a residential zone.

Upon MMS &C by Councilmembers Diaz and Naples and
unanimous affirmative vote of the five (5) Councilmembers
present, the Public Portion on Resolutions /Agenda Items and New
Business was opened to the public.
Kevin Urban questioned Resolultion #166.
Mayor Reiman said that resolution allows us to buy off the State
Contract List for items we want to buy.
Upon MMS &C by Councilmembers Diaz and Naples and Public Portion Closed
unanimous affirmative vote of the five (5) Councilmembers
present, the public portion of the meeting was closed.

1. 416 -162 Directing the Issuance of a Raffle License to
Power of God Ministries.
2. #16 -163 Appointing School traffic Guards for the 2016-
2017 Season.

Borough of Carteret and the SOA.

the Borough of Carteret.
Mayor Reiman then asked for a motion on the Consent Agenda. GENE' AGED
RESOLUTIONS #16 -162 through #16 -166 were introduced by the
Mayor and referred to the Council for action.

PAYMENT OF BILLS: PAYfNr CF BILLS
Upon MMS &C by Councilmembers Diaz and Naples, all bills
appearing on the prepared list, properly audited and signed, were
ordered to be paid. Upon Individual Roll Call Vote,
Councilmembers Diaz, DiMascio, Johal, Krum and Naples voted in
the Affirmative. Council President Bellino was noted absent.

COMMITTEES:
BUILDINGS & GROUNDS: Committee Chairperson Johal reported
all is doing well. Progress.
FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION: Committee Chairperson Diaz
reported the state has approved the application to process the
2016 Tax Sale and the date is set for November 14` The sewer
bills are due today with a thirty (30) day grace period. He reported
under the Technology Department, since the last report, one
hundred and seven (107) work tickets have been worked on and
ninety -nine (99) have been closed and eight (8) are pending. He
said the Technology Department has also installed a video camera
system at the Blazing Star. Progress in the department.
FIRE & DOMESTIC PREPAREDNESS: Committee Chairperson Krum
reported today there was a fire in his neighborhood at the Water
family's home. He said Mary and Tom of this family are in
intensive care in St. Barnabas Hospital and our thoughts and
prayers are with them. Progress.
PARKS, RECREATION & PUBLIC PROPERTY: In the absence of
Council President Bellino, the Mayor Reported progress.
POLICE: Committee Chairperson Naples reported the new roof on
the Police Department is approximately 90% complete and when
it is complete they are going to look into some cosmetic upgrades.
She said the Crime Watch Meeting was held last night for Carteret
and the topic was Crime Prevention and our canine dog Yikon and
Patrolman Antonio Dominguez completed their fifteen (15) week
training on September 2 and they are assigned to the Patrol
Division. She wished then the best of luck.

Mayor Reiman said the canine unit has been very successful so
far.
PUBLIC WORKS: Committee Chairperson DiMascio reported
Progress.
BOARD OF EDUCATION: Committee Chairperson Naples asked
Mayor Reiman and Council if they have the opportunity, one of
our High School seniors Angelo Golina was nominated for "The
Heart of the Giants Award" and if you log on to that sight through
the school website and vote for him and if he wins the High
School Football Team will get donations for their equipment.
Upon MMS &C by Councilmembers Diaz and Krum and unanimous AD aRNTD
affirmative vote of the five (5) Councilmembers present, the
meeting was Adjourned at approximately 6:06 P.M.
