AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN ADOPTED BY THE CITY
OF HOPKINSVILLE, KENTUCKY, ANNUAL BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2019
THROUGH JUNE 30, 2020
SUMMARY
SECTION ONE
By summary, Section Two of Ordinance 22-2019 amending the Classification and
Compensation Plan is amended to eliminate the Detective Lieutenant position and to reclassify
Detective Sergeant, Patrol Sergeant, and Special Investigative Unit (S.1 -U.) Sergeant positions
as Grade 15.
The full text of this Ordinance is on file in the office of the undersigned City Clerk of the
City of Hopkinsville at 715 South Virginia Street, Hopkinsville, Kentucky, where it is available for
public inspection between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

SECTION TWO
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason
held unconstitutional or otherwise invalid, such infirmities shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this ordinance.
SECTION THREE
Any and all existing ordinances inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION FOUR
This ordinance shall take effect after its passage and publication according to law.
