RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REVISIONS TO THE
IMPROVEMENTS TO LOUIS STREET AND FILLMORE
AVENUE CONTRACT TO INCLUDE IMPROVEMENTS
TO VARIOUS CROSS STREETS AND AUTHORIZING A
CHANGE ORDER
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough") has obtained a grant from
the New Jersey Department of Transportation ("NJDOT") to perform certain road
improvements to Louis Street and Fillmore Avenue (the "Project"); and
WHEREAS, the Borough will successfully complete the Project below the
allotted grant amount; and
WHEREAS, the excess funds may be used to improve adjoining roads, upon
approval by NJDOT upon reviewing of a revised grant application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the
Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret that the Borough of Carteret is
hereby directed to prepare a revised grant application to include improvements to
portions of Barlik Street, State Street and additional work at the intersection of
Fillmore and Elmwood Avenues.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon approval by NJDOT the contract with
Tarheel Enterprises, Inc. be amended in an amount not to exceed the difference
between the sum of the original contract amount and engineering costs incurred at
$163,000.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor, Municipal Clerk and Borough
Engineer are hereby authorized to execute such documents as are necessary to
carry out the intended purpose of this Resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this contract modification shall be
advertised as prescribed by law.
