HomeMy Public PortalAboutRE_ Schedule Overrun Impact Draft Revised 4PM 10-22-2014 Renee Basel From:John Zoerhof <jzoerhof@HYPOWERINC.COM> Sent:Monday, November 17, 2014 7:26 AM To:Danny Brannon Subject:RE: Schedule Overrun Impact Draft Revised 4PM 10-22-2014 Good morning Danny, I believe that during the service transfer / energization process there were multiple items that occurred which did not necessarily translate into a Change Order but never the less effected the schedule. IE A cake being baked on Driftwood, a party being held on Pelican and The house on South Road ( Hardrives Owner) that requested we wait until their electrician could be present. The house on South Drive was re-scheduled 3 times. These items were done on a day to day basis in the interest of accommodating the home owners via direct communications in the field. The reason these items effected the schedule, especially on the south end, was the limitation of the initial switching orders, as issued from FPL, which greatly limited what we could perform in a timely manner as far as bringing the loops hot in the first place. For all intents and purposes the orders were remotely micro-managing the process without the benefit of knowledge in the field that could have expedited the process from the beginning. As a matter of fact, the switching orders for the second loop section were delayed from a Thursday to Tuesday in order to hold a meeting with FPL, which John Lehr attended with us, to gain the ability of a “Loop Permit” type process. The other item which greatly affected us on the north end was the primary loop riser which could not be energized and heated up from the north causing us to schedule outages for the vault and properties just south of there. This incorporated two Saturdays additional. All of these things were performed to expedite the process within these limitations without requesting time extensions, which in retrospect we probably should have. If we had done so, I believe it would have translated into at least the 5 days we are looking at in the breakdown below. Overall I would say that the project was a success and that the crew worked as efficiently as they could while limiting the impact to the residents overall. I would ask that the Town consider granting us the 5 days for the above mentioned items. , Regards John Zoerhof Division Manager – Power Services Direct 954.917.1439 1 Cell 954.448.0369 954.978.9300 – Main 954.978.8666. - Fax Please consider the environment before printing this e-mail  NOTICE: This email is intended solely for the use of the individual to whom it is addressed and may contain information that is privileged, confidential or otherwise exempt from disclosure.
