A radar/display system has been installed to help remind people to check their speed and slow down after coming around the curve from First Street.  STOP for Pedestrians in Walkways! Use special caution as the visitors hit our streets and beaches. REMEMBER, it is Georgia State Law that vehicles MUST stop for any pedestrian in a marked cross-walk! Use your flashers and blinkers and help the pedestrians and other drivers watch out, because a stopped vehicle may make it difficult for someone driving in the next lane to see pedestrians, especially children! Pass stopped cars with caution Be smart! Be safe! Be friendly and courteous! It could be YOUR kids or grandkids at risk!  July 4th Celebrations Tybee Island will be hosting fireworks at the Pier  Next Just as we wrap up our own downtown construction, GDOT has begun milling off the top asphalt on Highway 80 – First Avenue and Butler Street will be repaved under GDOT supervision, as this is a state-owned highway.
