Use special caution as the visitors hit our streets and beaches. REMEMBER, it is Georgia State Law that vehicles MUST stop for any pedestrian in a marked cross-walk! Use your flashers and blinkers and help the pedestrians and other drivers watch out, because a stopped vehicle may make it difficult for someone driving in the next lane to see pedestrians, especially children! Be smart! Be safe! Be friendly and courteous! It could be YOUR kids or grandkids at risk! New Sanitation Surcharge The City must add a surcharge to waste removal services to repay the general fund for waste-related debt. The monthly charge will add $3.96 per roll-out container; that’s $7.92 per billing cycle, as we continue working to convert to monthly billings. July 4th Celebration and Fireworks We are again hosting Tybee’s fireworks on July 4th at the Tybee Pier and Pavilion. Fireworks will begin just after dusk, between 9 and 9:30PM. Be prepared for the traffic snarl-ups and lane closures to allow for emergency vehicle access if required!
