Re , Cler #x x x####i(-***-X### #x x x x#x x x x x x##XHHE(--X **-ICI-X-4HHH(-***-X#-X-,Y** 3HE-x.t x x x THE x x x* BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHNOND, INDIANA, SEPTEMBER 28, 1967 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana met in regular session in the City Building, September 28, 1967 at the hour of 9:00 o'clock a.m. (est). Mr. Jameson presiding with the following members being present: • Mr. Gehr and Mr. Keller. The following business was had to-wit: Mr. Gehr moved the minutes of the previous meeting be approved without being read aloud, seconded by Mr. Keller and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Gehr moved the claims be allowed and paid, seconded by Mr. Keller and on voice vote was carried. Frank Berheide presented a petition signed by himself and others in the area of South "F" Street between South 17th and 19th Streets for installations of street lights. This was referred to the Light Plant for study and recommendation. Notice of a suit against the city, signed by Raymond England, who was injured on October 5, 1965 while employed by the Dana Corporation, w� presented. The suit set out that Mr. England contacted an uninsulated wire belong1„o the Richmond Power and Light and suffered severe burns, nerve damage and other severe and permanent injury. This notice was filed with the City Attorney. Captain Stout extended an invitation to the Board members to attend a demonstra- tion of closed T.V. that is being used by other Police Departments. The showing date is October, 2, 1967 at the hour of 9:00 p.M. in the City Building. Captain Stout stated that Earlham College had contacted him to request consent from the Board to hcid a home coming parade on the streets of the City October 20, 1967 starting at 6: 15 p.m. The Board approved the request on recommendation of Captain Stout. Chief Stultz requested permission to send officers Richard Irvine and Charles Chris to a one day seminar on the subject of mob and riot control to be held under the supervision of the F.B.I. at the National Academy at Fort Belvoir, Virginia October 4, 1967. Mr. Gehr moved that permission be granted, seconded by Mr. Keller and on voice vote was carried. A letter from the Redevelopment Commission requesting that the. Board of Public Works and Safety proceed as quickly as possible to negotiate for the construction of sidewalks on North "H" Street between North 14th and North 16th Streetu according to plans and specifications on file. Mr. Keller moved the Board of Works advertise for bids to do the above work and further the date of October 12, 1967 at the hour of 10:00 a.m. (est) be the date and time to open the bids received. Mr. Gehr seconded this motion and on voice vote was carried. All the expense for advertising to be paid by the Redevelop- ment Commission.
